Art Conservation

All paintings age and therefore change their appearance over the course of time. This process affects the whole picture including its support substructure, the paint and the varnish layers, all of which can be jeopardised – and in some cases damaged by factors such as hanging, transportation environmental factors and previous restoration.

 

Insitju offer a full art restoration service, including relining, conservation cleaning, repair of canvas, retouching and restretching of canvases. We only use best quality traditional stretchers for our canvases. We also construct bespoke birch ply wood panels for artists. All our work is provide with a conservation report.
